Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 review


Micromax launched Canvas Xpress 2 E313 Ultra low budget device powered with a Mediatek Octacore processor.As claimed by the company this is the cheapest octacore powered device.

Under the hood it has a Mediatek MT6592M Octacore CPU Clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with Mali 450MP4 (Quadcore) GPU. This device has 1GB DDR3  RAM for Multitasking. The front side has a 5 inch HD (1280 X 720) resolution IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.It also has Oleophobic coating to get rid of finger prints and a better viewing angle of 178 degree.

The best part of the device is its camera, it comes with 13MP BSI rear camera with OV Sensor, 5P Largan Lens, f 2.0 aperture, Blue Glass filter and a dual LED flash for night photos.On the front it has a 2 MP OV Sensor camera with Panorama mode.

This device has 8 GB of internal ROM out of which 4.98GB is available for Mass storage and Apps installation,Storage can be expanded upto 32 GB with a MicroSD card.Micromax nowadays ensures better Audio output quality in their devices.In this device also they made it by including Cirrus Logic Wolfson DAC chip for better audio output from speaker.


It runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 .Micromax Claims that it can be upgradable to Android Lollipop 5.0 which means in the near future the device will receive OTA Lollipop update.

Connectivity include Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support, 3G Dual SIM (Micro) and USB On-the Go (OTG) Support.

Sensors include Proximity sensor, Ambient Light sensor, Magnetic Sensor, Accelerometer and Gyroscope.

Xpress 2 is powered by a  2500 mAh Li-Ion battery which as per the company can provide 9 Hours of Talktime and 393 Hours of standby time.

It comes in black colour with golden rim around the frame and the narrow bezels around the display makes the device looks premium in this price range.

The device is priced at INR 5,999 which is the very low price considering the features of the device.The device can be bought only from Flipkart through flash sale similar to the Canvas Spark.
